Eclecticism is a multi-label womenswear boutique located in at the heart of Singapore’s most popular shopping enclave, Orchard Road. It was important for the shop’s interior architecture to stand out and communicate its fun and vibrant personality. Inspired by circus, carnivals and joyrides, the space was given the mood of the uncontainable excitement akin to womens’ joy of shopping.
Customers are greeted by the boutique’s glorious collection of womenswear upon entering the shop. Garments are hung from varying heights by two large gold metal rings made of stainless steel with a mirror finish. Its rings are made to resemble roller coaster rails. Individual hooks have been drilled into the rings to hang the garments.
To reinforce fun and play, the shop’s furniture have an unconventional finish. Three distinct emerald shaped gems were utilized to create shelving units for accessories, which were painted in soft hues on the walls. Finally, an array of Ferruccio Laviani table lamps were converted and strung from the ceiling for a grand finish to add a touch of playfulness and fun.
